Application Process
There are three parts to our application process:
- Policy review
- Screening questions
- Meet and greet
Policies
1. The purchaser must be over the age of 18 years or have permission from their parent or guardian.
2. The purchaser and/or the parent or guardian must be present during the purchase.
3. For a full refund or exchange the hamster must be returned within 7 days, or unless otherwise specified.
4. Hamsters may only be placed on hold for 7 days. If a hamster is to be held for longer, a non-refundable deposit of half the fee is required. If a hamster is not picked up by the specified date, it will become available to others.
5. We reserve the right to deny a sale.
6. We are not professionally trained to diagnose or treat any illnesses.
7. Hamsters purchased through us may not be used for breeding purposes, or unless otherwise specified.
Screening Questions
1. Have you had experience caring for hamsters before?
2. What type and size of enclosure do you have?
3. How much socialization are you planning on providing?
4. What type of bedding are you planning to use?
5. Do you plan on adding hay into the enclosure? If so, what kind?
6. What food do you plan on providing as a staple diet?
7. How do you plan on maintaining teeth, claws, and fur?
8. What type and size of wheel will you have?
9. What forms of enrichment do you plan on providing?
10. Are you aware that Syrian hamsters are solitary creatures and must be housed alone?
11. Are you aware that all animals, no matter how tame, have a chance of biting out of fear, excitement, or curiosity?
12. Do you acknowledge that, if the hamster needs to be re-homed in the future, it must return to us?
